Byland Abbey Ruins - Once one of the greatest monasteries in England.
An outstanding example early gothic architecture, it inspired the design of the famous York Minster rose window. Please visit English Heritage for more information prior to your visit.
Castle Howard - is a stunning House & Estate owned by the Howard family. The house and grounds are beautiful and has been the setting for many period dramas. It is well worth spending a day there - for more information visit their website.
